On 21 September, International Day of Peace, Requiem Records released the solo debut recording of vocalist Magdalena Zawartko, Satyagraha, which is the culmination of her 10 years of activity within the jazz music sphere. Michal Tokaj took musical direction of the project and is the author of most of the musical arrangements.

Satyagraha, or “holding firmly to truth”, refers not only to the theory preached by Gandhi, but especially to the truth which music gives us in a world of chaos and consumerism. It is a kind of musical manifesto and emotional weapon in the concept of the power of a man remaining in a state of truth. It is also worth noting that both Satyagraha and jazz music have had a significant cultural and historical impact and continue to inspire and influence people around the world in their own unique ways.

The album features original compositions inspired by the multiculturalism of our world and jazz interpretations of songs depicting the syncretism of religions and cultures through the emotional message they carry.
