Young Musicians Can Now Submit Applications for the Festival Competition

We are now accepting applications for the Open Competition for Jazz Individuality named after Wojtek Siwek. This one of the most prestigious and longest-running jazz competitions in Poland, will take place as part of the upcoming 61st edition of the Jazz nad Odrą Festival.

The Grand Prix of the Wojtek Siwek Jazz Individuality Competition 2025, awarded by the festival jury, is funded by the President of the City of Wrocław and amounts to 25,000 PLN.

The competition is open to artists and performers who are under 30 years of age and who have not previously won the Grand Prix or individual awards at Jazz nad Odrą in previous years. For groups, at least half of the performers must hold Polish citizenship.

The festival’s Jury will evaluate recordings of three pieces selected by the participant, totaling approximately 20 minutes in length, with one of those pieces requiring a rhythm changes or blues form.

Detailed information, competition rules, and the application form are available here [link to competition page].

Candidates can submit applications until March 21, 2025. The Jury will select the finalists, who will be notified by the organizer by April 7, 2025.

The final of the competition will take place in concert form on the first day of the Jazz nad Odrą Festival, April 23rd, 2025, at the Impart Centrum in Wrocław. The jury’s verdict and award presentation will occur that same day during the evening concert.

The winner of the Grand Prix of the Wojtek Siwek Jazz Individuality Competition 2025 will also perform at the concert on April 24th, 2025.

Apart from the Grand Prix funded by the President of Wrocław, additional awards will be announced shortly.
