The programme includes over a dozen concerts, exhibitions, jam sessions and the final of the 2023 Jazz Individuality Contest.
At a press conference held a week before the start of the event, the organisers summarised the preparations for the Wrocław jazz festival. This year, the main venue for the events will be the Impart Centrum, the new stage of Strefa Kultury Wrocław (Culture Zone Wrocław), which formerly housed the Witold Lutosławski Philharmonic. Other concerts and jam sessions will take place at Vertigo Jazz Club & Restaurant. The festival will begin with the final auditions of the 2023 Jazz Individuality Contest. Young musicians will compete for the Grand Prix awarded by a jury consisting of: Dariusz Oleszkiewicz, Peter Erskine, Piotr Wojtasik, and Kuba Stankiewicz. The winner will receive, among other prizes, PLN 25,000 funded by the Mayor of Wrocław and a Rybotrąbka statuette.This year, six bands qualified for the final: Jopek/Klemensiewicz, J. Tronix, Kasia S.P. Project, Know Material, Product May Contain and Sonar.
Accompanying events included the fifth edition of the Marek Karewicz photography competition, MK Jazz Foto. During the festival, the organisers will present the final exhibition, which consists of 33 selected works. From 2022, the jury will also award the Wojtek Siwek Special Prize for the best photograph taken during Jazz on the Oder River, while two unique concerts will be held in Firlej: David Dorůžka/ Piotr Wyleżoł/ Jeff Ballard and Stanisław Soyka and Arek Skolik Trio.
