Tomasz Pruchnicki Quartet is an atypical ensemble where a synergy between the piano and the Hammond organ merges the opposite poles of the saxophone and drums. The repertoire of pieces composed by Tomasz Pruchnicki is a basis for both individual and collective improvisation by all musicians. The lively music played by TPQ incorporates a dance of the four elements, European jazz music, reminiscences of folk music and live electronics.

Saxophonist, composer, experimenter. Graduate and lecturer of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. Winner of Jazz nad Odrą, Jazz Juniors, Krokus Jazz Festiwal, Big Band Festival in Nowy Tomyśl, Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, “Rura-Live” in Wrocław, and many other contests.

Scholarship of the Minister of Culture holder. He took part in the making of albums such as:  Organizacja with ensemble (T. Pruchnicki, D. Wania, J. Fedkowicz, W. Fedkowicz, J. Pilch), Back to The Presence with Eryk Kulm’s Quintessence ensemble, and Missa Pacis with M. Wawrzynowicz’s sextet.

The Jazz on the Odra Festival in 2015 saw the première of the original record of Tomasz Pruchnicki Quartet titled Gnomonika (M. Kądziela, G. Piasecki, W. Buliński). In 2016 he recorded parts of the album by Yarosh Organ Trio (P. Jarosz, T. Pruchnicki, K. Galas), and appeared in their successive albums Alterakcje, Progressive synthesis, and in Wagabunda by Zawartko/Piasecki band.

He is currently involved in his original project Total Immersion with Tomasz Pruchnicki Quartet (D. Wania, K. Galas, P. Jarosz).
