[NEW DATE] A week filled to the brim with jazz sensations is coming up in 2020

Next year’s edition will run for a week! Join the Culture Zone Wrocław team for seven days of concerts, jam session nights, exhibitions, meetings and outdoor performances.

Over the course of the last few years, the Wrocław festival has undergone several significant changes which had an impact on its form, reach and audiences. The 51st edition in 2015 saw the debut of Leszek Możdżer as the festivals new artistic director. One of the most renowned and outstanding composers of our time joined the Jazz Council to jointly program a diverse and bold line-up. The format of the festival was expanded by adding outdoor performances. For two years now, in addition to ticketed events, Impart has also been hosting a stage showcasing emerging bands and jazz stars for free. The Jazz Personality Contest once again became a springboard enabling young artists to achieve their first successes on Polish jazz stage. Laureates of previous editions – SKICKI-SKIUK, Adam Jarzmik Quintet and Weezdob Collective – play concerts, record their albums and enjoy their place they earned in the music industry without a sense of inferiority.

These changes resulted in six consecutive titles for the best jazz festival in the annual survey conducted among the Jazz Forum readers. The only thing left to do is to change the date of the festival to gain two additional days filled to the brim with jazz sensations – in 2020, the festival will start on 20 April and run until 26 April. The first names of stars coming to Wrocław to join us for the 56th edition will be announced this year, and the festival will start with an outstanding performance. “We packed the entire week with great events, which will once again fill Wrocław with the sound of jazz. However, I can assure you right now that the opening concert at the National Forum of Music will be one of the strongest points of the programme, claims Krzysztof Maj, general director of the Wrocław Culture Zone. Tickets for the event will be available soon.
