This is the fifth edition of MK Jazz Foto, a photography competition named after Marek Karewicz, organised by the International Foundation of Jazz on the Oder in cooperation with the Culture Zone Wrocław and the Jazz Forum magazine. During this time, the organisers received more than a thousand photographs taken by over 300 Polish photographers from all over the world, assessed by more than 20 jurors. The eagerly awaited final exhibition of the 33 top-rated works has become a permanent feature of the programme of events accompanying the Jazz on the Oder festival. The participants and winners of the competition have more and more remarkable achievements on the international arena. The most spectacular success is to the credit of the winner of the MK Jazz Foto 2022 Grand Prix, Urszula Las, who – as the first Polish representative – won the JJA Jazz Awards competition for the Best Jazz Photograph of the Year organised by the Association of American Jazz Journalists in New York.
Marek Karewicz would undoubtedly be very proud of them.
