Marcin Pater Trio

Marcin Pater Trio

Three friends – graduates of the Faculty of Jazz and stage music of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. The band was founded on the initiative of the vibraphonist Marcin Pater.

The band’s music revolves primarily around the frontman’s own songs, oscillating around the broadly understood jazz. It is characterised by light, tuneful melodies led by a vibraphone, which is the most prominent in the band, giving it a unique sound and making the band stand out among the rest. Marcin Pater Trio won the Grand Prix of the 2018 Jazz Juniors Competition. He won the first prize at the 2018 Sibiu Jazz Contest in Sibiu, Romania, as well as an award for the best composition for his song “Take Down.” The band also received the first prize at the RCK PRO Jazz Festival in Kołobrzeg. They were also finalists of the B-Jazz International Contest in Leuven, Belgium.
