April in Wrocław will resonate with music and showcase the finest in the broad spectrum of contemporary jazz styles. Strefa Kultury Wrocław and the Artistic Council invite you to the 61st Edition of the Jazz nad Odrą Festival.
This year’s program features artists acclaimed as icons of the genre (Joe Lovano) and international projects, including the premiere of Piotr Wojtasik’s album “Inscape,” recorded at the legendary Van Gelder Studio in New Jersey, featuring leading New York musicians; a concert by Anna Maria Jopek with the Japanese trio Makoto Ozone; the Janis Siegel/Yaron Gershovsky quintet from the famous Manhattan Transfer; and Piotr Wyleżoł’s quartet.
Over five festival days, attendees will have the opportunity to see both established masters who have long confirmed their top positions in the jazz world (Joe Sanders feat. Seamus Blake, Daniel Rotem Quartet with Darek Oleszkiewicz) and outstanding virtuoso artists some may not have heard of yet (guitarist Lage Lund, tuba player Daniel Herskedal).
On the stages of Impart Centrum and Verigo Jazz Club & Restaurant, we will host musicians whose recent works have received excellent reviews worldwide (Marquis Hill, Obed Calvaire), alongside well-known Polish bands led by long-established leaders (Aga Zaryan, Henryk Miśkiewicz).
On April 24th, with the announcement of the festival program, we will kick off the sale of passes. Tickets for individual concerts will be available starting March 3rd, both at the Impart Centrum box office and online at strefakultury.pl and jazznadodra.pl.
